Arabah

    The name means "Plain, Desert".  It is a deep valley with a flat plain at the bottom running from the Sea of Galilee in the north, through the Dead Sea and on to the Gulf of Aqabah on the Red Sea.  It is part of the Great Rift Valley running down to Mozambique in east Africa.  The Jordan River runs through the middle of this valley from the Sea of Galilee to the Dead Sea.


Dt 3:17
the Arabah also, and the Jordan and the border of it, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward.

Dt 4:49
and all the Arabah beyond the Jordan eastward, even to the sea of the Arabah, under the slopes of Pisgah.
